Cuba 1902 - Scott 232 - (EDIFIL 174)
An unused, original gum, very lightly hinged block of 4 of the 1902 surcharged stamp with great centering for this issue. This is the first postage stamp issued by the Republic. There are few very small tropical stains on the gum side and slight overall toning, that as it is always the case, looks much worse on the scanned picture. The 2012 EDIFIL Specialized Catalogue of the Stamps of Cuba lists this stamp as a block of 4 and prices it at € 15,- or US $20.00. A very scarce block of 4.
