SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD - Cuba 1899 - Scott 221-26 - (EDIFIL Intervención Norteamericana 23-28)An unused, original gum, hinge remnants, complete set in Blocks of 4 of the 1899 American Intervention surcharged stamps. As an added bonus, on the 3c block, the lower left stamps is the "period between the B and A of CUBA" variety (EDIFIL € 50,- as a single) . These blocks are in incredible condition; fresh and without a trace of any tropical gum stains. Each block has been hinged twice, at the upper left and lower right stamps, therefore, two stamps on each block remain never hinged. The 2˝c block has remnants of a third hinged applied between the two lower stamps. The 2012 EDIFIL Specialized Catalogue of the Stamps of Cuba lists this set in blocks of 4 and prices it at € 588.- or around US $820.00 at the current rate of exchange. Very seldom seen and much more so in this great condition!
